Reading From the Druid Animal Oracle
Sometimes you have to look at the cards total meaning... And, then, use intuition.... lol
Salmon-Bradan: Wisdom, Inspiration, Rejuvenation
Bradon reversed, This card may indicate that you are trying too hard to reach your goals, or that you are relying on someone else to find your wisdom for you. Contemplate the stories of Taliesin and Fion mac Cumhail and try to adopt a more relaxed and open approach to life.
The Salmon is able to jump upstream not by fighting against the current, but by utilising it's knowledge of the reverse current which flows beneath the surface current.
From this salmon leaping, we have derived the word somersault, as a corruption of "Salmon-sault". Children somersault, and choosing this card- reversed or upright- is urging you to connect with the leaping, dancing child within.
Tradition of the Salmon
Peer often deep within the pool of Fec,
Peer often deep within the pool of thought,
And you will harmonize the wandering mind,
Recover sunken secrets of yourself,
Find Love and Light without you, as within,
And wake new wonder by the banks of the Boyne
-"The Song of the Salmon-God" W.P. Ryan
Hawk-Seabhac: Nobility, Recollection, Cleansing
Seabhac brings the ability to see your life in perspective, to free you of unnecessary "baggage" and to connect with your ancestral roots.
See if you can take some time out of your daily routine to survey your life calmly and to see events in context.
The Hawk can help you to recollect the missing pieces of the jigsaw you will be trying to assemble and he will help, too, to spot the details which are significant.
When you have a sense of your roots and of the breadth of your life, you will start to feel pride and a growing sense of nobility and stature.
Once you know where you have come from and where you are going, your life will be filled with inspiration and enthusiasm, you will sense a new day dawning, and you will be able to make decisions with confidence.
Swan-Eala: Soul, Love, Beauty
Swan-Eala(reversed) This card may mean that you need to come to terms with a separation. The old tales of the swan show that in reality there is no separation from the ones that we love-only a transformation from one form to another
But to continue your journey in this world, we need to say "good bye" to those that we are separated from, even though we know that ultimately we may be together again, The Separation we are faced with, however, may be internal rather than external, and Eala may be calling us to connect more deeply with our own soul.
This is upright-
Eala brings us the qualities of the soul- of love and depth, grace and beauty.
The Swan is also a bird of the threshold, and represents that part of us which can travel into the Otherworld.
Drawing this card may indicate that you will receive inspiration from the otherworld, or that love in entering into your life

Happy Birthday this month to: Angel Levi (3/5), and CelticWitch (3/20)
We've begun a new monthly discussion of the gods and goddesses at the Void. February's topic was the Morrigan. Some highlights of that discussion follow:
‘I am not unreasonable," She points out. ‘But I am not an easy One to follow. I expect more from those I choose.' My turn to nod, not easily done with a sharp blade against my skin. ‘Still, you have won the first battle. I am pleased. Do not rest on your triumph, however, or I will be most dis-pleased.' I can only imagine...and I had been thinking that same thing when I wrote a journal entry on longing for the course yesterday. Hmmm...
‘A blade, though finely made, must be honed and handled to keep its edge. The same is true with you, little bird. As Wren bested Eagle, you have bested your adversary by wits alone. Stay sharp. Stay honed. And, handle your new skills daily to sharpen their edges. A warrior wields a weighty sword everyday, that it be lighter in battle. Muscles must be flexed and toned, new skills learned, for the next tasks I will set before you will challenge you even further. Do not disappoint me again." She kisses my ear, with a little laugh as I shiver again. I feel the sword withdrawn and hear it sheathed.

Her Role
The 'Phantom Queen,'s role and cult can easily be identified as remains of a matriarchal cult. She has a lot in common with goddesses like Inanna/Ishtar, the Indian Kali or Hecate.
The origins of the Morrígan seem to reach directly back to the megalithic cult of the Mothers. The Mothers (Matrones, Idises, Dísir, etc.) usually appeared as triple goddesses and their cult was expressed through both battle ecstasy and regenerative ecstasy.
The Morrigu is prophetess of all misfortune in battle and has knowledge of the fate of humanity. She is also the messenger of death as the dark lady/washer at the ford : Morrigan is seen washing bloody laundry prior to battle by those destined to die.
Her personality is associated with the sometimes frightening aspects of female energy.
As a protectress she empowers an individual to confront challenges with great personal strength, even against seemingly overwhelming odds. Roman chroniclers reported that Celts went into battle naked, exposing tattoos to summon their magical forces.
For March, we will be learning about Pele. You can see that thread and join the discussion here... Pele
March 3rd will bring a full lunar eclipse. We've begun several threads on lunar magic and there are also monthly exercises you can trie. You find them at:
Moon Meditations and Exercises
Lunar Eclipse Magic
The Myths and Rituals of the Lunar Eclipse
Lunar Eclipse Mediation Ritual
In the Discussions Forum, we have blogs in the 'De-Void of Thought' board. Start your own blog/thread and share your thoughts for the day with your fellow members!
And, at the very bottom of the Void, you'll find boards that highlight some of members' special talents and offerings. Check out the boards for Aweful Ron's, Bob's Ironworks and Wren's Song!
And, help us spread the word about the Void! Let's all try to bring at least one new member into the family this month!
